Hi, I am so grateful I found this page, it help me so much overcome my fears, I need your help whit my labs, 6 months ago I got tested and the results : hbsag negative, anti hbcore positive, anti hbsab positive, anti hbeag negative, anti body e negative, adn viral negative = funcional cure, as the Dr said I repeated this Labs a week ago (6 months control) but this time I only have anti hbcore igg posited the rest is negative, what I need to do now sinse I do not have antibodies? Why it’s negative this time? I am at risk?
Hi @Tathy,
Three tests are important here: HBsAg, HBsAb, and HBcAb. Your negative, positive, and negative results for those three tests show you still have immunity or a functional cure. Anti-HBc is used to see whether someone has been exposed to HBV. So in your case, it will be yes and a positive result, and will always be positive. Your anti-HBc IgG result is negative, indicating that you are currently not exposed nor do you have HBV. I know these tests can be confusing, but remember that anti-HBc and anti-HBc IgG are two separate tests. You do not need to do anything; just follow what your doctor says. You still have a functional cure. Please, try not to stress yourself too much about the other tests; focus on those three tests I mentioned in addition to HBV viral load. Best, Bansah1
Thanks for your answer, I really appreciate. I am having a bad time and this results just make me feel worse.
You don’t have to because the results are not what you think they are. Your results are great and enjoy your functional cure status rather than worrying about some results that have no significance over your current status. Celebrate, live your life and enjoy it. Best, Bansah1
