my liver scans are very good. I am still within 6 months but i haven’t had any type of symptom but my pcr havent raised beyond 3500 and my liver asat and alat have never go beyond the normal range. Does this mean I have chronic hep b ?
Yes, these results are consistent with a chronic hepatitis B infection. However, given your normal ALT level and relatively low viral load, you are in a relatively stable phase that is associated with limited liver disease progression.
It is important to keep monitoring your condition for any changes, but this is generally a good sign.
Apologies, I misunderstood and thought you may have been diagnosed before these tests. You are right that the first and latest tests are within 6 months, so it is still not certain whether this would be considered a chronic infection or not.
In any case, this community is here for your support. Best of luck to you.
Hi, DR, middle of February is supposed to be the end of my 6 months. Last test I saw a sharp drop viral charge and all other blood test have going down. I don’t take any medication. What does this mean ?
Fluctuations in HBV DNA of this kind are expected with chronic infection (particularly the immune control phase). Taken alone, this change doesn’t mean anything in particular. What are you hoping to find out?
@inin78649 If you don’t mind sharing, I wonder what events / activities caused those sharp increase (423->3310) and decrease (2590->128)? Did you take any measure to bring it down? Thanks.
