Hello everybody,
It seems the Hep B community advocates from around the world have been incredibly active. Use this post to add what events you have attended or created to promote World Hepatitis Day. It would be great to see the support we have had in advocacy and policy-making around Hep B. This can also inspire others to create their own advocacy in their community.

World Hepatitis Day Parliamentary Event 2024
On July 4th, 2024, Government officials and hepatitis B advocates from around Australia attended the federal parliament event at the Australian Parliament House, Canberra. Even @ThomasTu was present at the event to advocate for the Hep B community. This was a special day as the hepatitis community and government came together to call up action against viral hepatitis in Australia by 2030. There were great speakers at the event including those with lived experience. It was also announced that $7.8 million will be funded for public awareness and workforce training to support hepatitis B elimination.

Thomas Tu is really doing great in Australia and hepatitis b community as a whole
Stigma against hepatitis b is like a plague in some African countries where i came from
So sometimes is like a risk to share your experience
I hope it gets better one day

Thanks @Sent-d for the kind words. I’m doing my bit, but it’s just a drop compared to the whole sector. I’m hoping that our efforts help others join in, get engaged, and together build a wave of action!

You are very right and correct
I hope to build that courage one day to be able to discuss it
